The 2014 Bench Bar Conference is scheduled for November 6, 2014.


This year's Bench Bar Conference will be held at Mohegan Sun and will start at 11:00 A.M. and conclude at 5:15 p.m. with a cocktail reception.

Lawyer's should use the valet parking for the Hotel and Convention entrance.

The 2015 Law Day Dinner will be at the Woodlands Inn & Resort, but on a Friday. It will be held Friday, April 17, 2015. Free overnight rooms will be available for all members who attend. For further details see the ad in the Bar News Section of the Luzerne Legal Register.

This Year's Summer Outing was held at the Fox Hill and was a huge success. The dinner is planned by the Association's Social Committee, chaired by Atty. Sandor Yelen and Atty. Melissa A. Scartelli.

Three retiring Members of the Association's Executive Committee were honored at the Outing: Catherine R. O'Donnell, Esq.; James P. Valentine, Esq., and Eric W. Wassel, Esq.

Officers and Members of the Social Committee at Fox Hill with Cathy and Jim, who received special awards that evening, as the events Honored Guests, for their service to the Bar association.

Attorney Eric Wassel could not attend the Outing this year - although as the usual Master of Ceremonies for the Golf Tournament and as the co-Chair of the Summer Outing Golf Committee, he did perform the planning with fellow Co-Chair, Attorney John H. Kennedy, and a new member of the committee, Attorney Peter J. Biscontini.

The Summer Golf Outing was extremely successful in raising money for the Luzerne County Bar Association Charitable Foundation, Inc. This year's hole sponsorships included the following:

This raised $1,100.00 for the Foundation. Then, there was added a Basket Raffle - four baskets raffled off that raised an additional $1,070.00. Our thanks to our basket Vendor Donators, which included:

Louie's Prime Steakhouse, Nick's Lake House, Shenanigans of Lake Harmony, Vanderlyn's, the Woodlands Inn, Grico's, Pazzo Restaurant, Senunas', Kevin,s and Agolino's. And especially, The Lodge at Woodloch (which donated a stay and golf).

Finally, the Golf Committee held its usual hole wagers, which brought in $1,125.00. Thus, in all the Golf Committee raised $3,295.00.
